Professional Consultations

We offer specialist consultation delivered by our experienced team who are all qualified in the field of childhood trauma and abuse.

Professional Consultation

Please note: that in order to utilise this service you have to submit a request for support form and it must be accepted by the triage team – these can be found by visiting the ‘request for support’ tab on our website.

Professional consultation can take the form of;
  • A multi-professional meeting relating to the child/family.

  • An individual consultation with a lead professional.

  • A smaller systemic meeting of key professionals and parents/carers.

Aims and outcome of engaging in professional consultation:
  • To make a full systemic assessment of the child/young person, their family and education establishment (if attending one) in order to decide on an appropriate action plan.

  • To advise on trauma-informed approaches/techniques to help support the child.

  • To take away a trauma informed plan and resources to support the child/YP, family and their education establishment.

The slots will work one of two ways. Professionals can opt to book a face to face meeting. These will be held at our office base in Taunton, where we have plenty of free parking and lots of resources onsite to share. Alternatively we can facilitate telephone phone calls from individuals or groups using conference calling or Webexe for multi-professionals to join. Following the meeting we will be able to email resources and plans that have been jointly made. This may be the end of the consultation process or may lead to one or more follow-up sessions in order to develop a full assessment of needs and a detailed action plan.
