A specialist service supporting children, young people and their families who have experienced childhood sexual abuse.

We also support the professional development of the workforce across Somerset through consultation & training.

Our goal is to empower others to join us in mitigating the negative impact of child sexual abuse on the lives of children and families living in Somerset, so they can rebuild & thrive.

Current Waiting Times

These are the wait times for our services.

Specialist trauma recovery work or Counselling

The current wait is

12-18 months

Our team is working hard to provide direct, 1-2-1 support as quickly as possible. We offer a range of introductory support offers which you can access from the minute we begin working alongside children, young people and their families.

  • You can have regular check-ins with our wellbeing support workers who can offer virtual or telephone support before you are given a member of the team to support you in person.

  • You can access our PADLET, which is full of useful wellbeing advice and signposting to other support options which will compliment your work with us.

  • You can join us for our weekly “Welcome to Phoenix – Wellbeing Workshops”.

  • You can reach out to ask us to advocate for you if you are faced with barriers in education.

When you are allocated a worker, we work with you to come up with a plan of support that works for you. Some people work with us for 6-12 months, for others it can be less than this. There is no risht way to work with Phoenix, we will do our best to adapt to what you need.

If there is already a professional working with the child or young person who has a good relationship with them we can offer indirect specialist trauma recovery much sooner via professional consultation with that exisiting professional. Please opt for consultation on the top of the request form. For more details on what this process looks like please refer to the professional consultation page.
